Dear Parents/Carers
IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION
As concerns about the impact of the COVID-19 virus increase in our community, I want to keep you well informed about how Rockingham SHS ESC is managing the health and safety of our students and staff to minimise the impact of COVID-19.
SCHOOL CLOSURE
As we begin Week 8, please note that, any major decisions for the School, such as school closure, are subject to Government directives. Please note that RSHS ESC will remain open and continue with our usual teaching and learning programs unless directed to close by the Government.
See below for additional information to keep you well informed regarding our School’s response to the threat of COVID-19 pandemic.
SCHOOL EVENTS
As a further precaution to minimise the risk of COVID-19 virus transmission, the following RSHS ESC events and activities will also be cancelled or postponed:

- School Photos
- WPL
- POP up café
- Fishabilities
- Fitness Boxing
Cancelled
- All school excursions and incursions
- Open Day
- School Ball
- School Assembly – April 9
NON-ESSENTIAL SCHOOL VISITORS
To help reduce the transmission of COVID-19, we will be limiting non-essential visitors to the school until further notice. Please note, therapists will not continue their visits to the school to undertake therapy. You will have to contact therapists to organise a home visit.
COLD AND FLU SYMPTOMS
If your child is unwell with any cold or flu symptoms, I highly recommend that they do not attend school.
STUDENTS AT HIGH RISK
If your child has a respiratory disease, cystic fibrosis, a past medical history of asthma, an immunodeficiency disease or diabetes you may elect to self-isolate your child in the home. This decision is up to you. We understand and support your decision. If you feel that this is something that your family is considering, please let me know ASAP. We can adjust your child’s attendance record and organise for school work to be sent home for completion.
